Joey King and Patricia Arquette may have had a little too much fun at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 5). While celebrating Arquette's win for her role in The Act, which she starred in with King, the pair had an accident that left King with a visible welt on her forehead. So, what happened, exactly? Arquette accidentally hit King in the head with her Golden Globe.
"Patricia Arquette accidentally hit me in the head with her Golden Globe," King wrote on Twitter alongside two photos of her bruise. "That sentence will give me bragging rights for the rest of my life."
"What happens in the elevator stays in the elevator! No seriously I’m so sorry sweetest one!" Arquette quickly responded to the tweet. Funnily enough, the moment when Arquette's award collided with King's forehead was captured on video. The co-stars were goofing around at InStyle's social media installation at the awards show. The video was shared on Twitter for all to see. If you watch King at the very end of the video you'll see the exact moment she accidentally head butts Arquette's award.
Though King didn't win her own Golden Globe for her role in The Act, she's sure to remember this year's awards because it was her first nomination. Well, and because she left with a huge bruise on her forehead after being whopped by Arquette's statue. How could anybody forget that?
