Back in spring 2019, rumors of an affair between Prince William and Kate Middleton's good friend, Rose Hanbury, began circulating online. Some British tabloids called Rose the Duchess of Cambridge's "rural rival" at the time. The rumors died down after the Duke and Duchess threatened legal action against any tabloid publishing stories about the alleged affair.
Since then, Rose, also known as the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, attended a state banquet at Buckingham Palace that Kate and William were also at. They were not photographed together at the time. Other than the state dinner, Rose and Kate have not been spotted together since the affair rumors. Until now, that is.
Kate, William and Rose all attended the same church service in Sandringham on Sunday (January 5). Though they were not photographed together, they were both spotted walking to the church. Tatler reports William and Kate attended the service with Queen Elizabeth, as well as a number of other family and friends, including Rose. So, while they weren't photographed together, it seems they planned to attend mass together as friends.
The first Sunday service of the year is reportedly quite a special one for Norfolk locals. The mass held on the first Sunday of every year is the only one attended by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at that church, which is why cameras were on hand to catch photos of the royals. Not only were paparazzi out and about in Norfolk on Sunday, local residents showed up to catch a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess, as well.
