How To Watch The Final Season Of 'Schitt's Creek'

FYC Screening Of Pop TV's "Schitt's Creek"

Grab your tissues: it's almost time to say goodbye to the beloved Rose family for good. The upcoming sixth season of Schitt's Creek will be it's last. The trailer for the final season already made us super emotional so the last few episodes are sure to bring on the tears. While some viewers will wait until the sixth season drops on Netflix later this year, you can actually watch the show in real time, too. Here's how.

Though Schitt's Creek reached main stream popularity in the U.S. after the streaming rights were acquired by Netflix, it's actually a Canadian production that originally aired on Pop TV and CBC. For American fans who don't live in Canada and have relied on streaming to catch up with Alexis, David, Johnny and Moira, there's actually a way to watch the show as it airs and it's super easy. Schitt's Creek can be streamed online on Pop TV and CBC. All you have to do is log in to your cable provider and it will be available as the new episodes air.

The final season of Schitt’s Creek will begin on Tuesday (January 7) at 9 p.m. EST. Just like seasons four and five, the sixth will consist of fourteen episodes. As for how the show will wrap up, co-creator and star Dan Levy has given fans a few hints about his plans for the Rose family. “At the end of the day, all people want out of a series finale is just a really f—ing great episode of your show,” Levy said. “A simple conclusion to a story is just as impactful as taking your characters on this weird 180 to just try and do something exciting.”

Levy also didn't completely shut down the possibility that Schitt's Creek could potentially return one day, even though he feels fans will be satisfied by the series' conclusion. "The world doesn’t explode at the end of it," he explained. "If there is something that comes up down the line that feels compelling enough to bring our troupe back together and continue to tell a story, so be it. I’m not one to lay down the iron fist and say, ‘This is it forever.’ This is just it for now.”
